My First Holiday

During the Summer of 2009, I was able to visit four countries in 20 days. This was my first time visiting overseas. England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales were more than I have ever dreamed of... One of the best parts of the experience was sharing it with the love of my life, John Murphy.

Everyone keeps asking me, "what was your favorite country?", and I always reply, "each one has it's own unique part that I love". I had the pleasure of viewing many castles. What girl does not like castles? I experienced the Tube, the London Eye, Kayla and JM taking 1000's of photos of Big Ben, kissing the Blarney Stone, drinking in an Irish Pub, standing in two countries at the same time (Scotland and England), walking through Abby Ruins that were breathtaking, drinking the perfect spot of tea, eating haggis in Scotland is not that bad, visiting Anne Hathaways thatched cottage in the Cotswalds, visiting Queen Elizabeth II's home church, and watching sheep run wild throughout the countryside. And did I mention that the weather was superb? I found that I love hot tea, especially Twinnings Everyday blend. Now to find the perfect teapot and cups... And I also realized that no matter what, JM is my perfect match!

My only regrets, if they are truly regrets were: not buying Wellies, not buying the cutest teapot ever, and not doing this sooner.

We are currently planning our next holiday out of the country. Can't wait to see where we go next...

Crimson Pride

I have been a Bama fan ever since I could walk and talk. Most of my family are University of Alabama football fans. When college football season rolls around, you can bet that you will find, on the television, a U of A game. It doesn't matter if we are having a winning or losing season, we are devoted to our team. It's called Crimson Pride! I have been blessed to go to a few games in my lifetime. Especially in the 1990's. Recently, the love of my life bought me tickets to the Alabama vs. Tulane Game and it was the first time I had been to T-town in over 15 years. As you can see from the photo above, I was extremely excited and this has been our year to show everyone what we are made of! We are about to play the Gators for the SEC Championship and have not lost a game yet... So in the words of all wonderful Bama fans in the world, ROLL TIDE ROLL!

How It All Began...

Once upon a time there were two people who knew each other for a long time, but never gave each other a chance. This is their story. John Murphy and I have known each other for almost 7 years now. We worked together at Baldwin County High School and taught on the same hall for 5 years. During those 5 years we were friends, but never thought about dating each other and really didn't hang out much outside of school. I transferred my 6th year of teaching to Elberta Middle School in Baldwin County and continued to stay in touch with him every so often on the weekends. Around January of 2008 we began talking a little more and hanging out with the same circle of friends. By February, I knew that my feelings were more than what they should be for someone that you call a "friend". I decided, like I usually do, to ask him out, after much debate (with my head and my heart). On February 29, 2008, JM and I went on our first date to Cousin Vinny's (a wonderful hole in the wall Pizza Place) and we have been dating ever since. I never knew that love could be this wonderful! We are currently planning a trip for the summer of 2009 to England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. It will be my first time overseas. I can't wait! And there will be a happily ever after!

My Dog, My Child...

Troy came into my life around Thanksgiving of 2005. He is thought to be a pit bull and boxer mix breed. Others have also speculated a pit bull and lab mix breed. Either way, he is a handsome man. He had been taken from his mother at the early age of 3 weeks old. I bottle fed him with a syringe and wiped him with baby wipes to help him go to the bathroom, until he was able to do it on his own. Needless to say, he was my baby. Now, he is a well behaved, lazy (most of the time), 3 year old. Lucky for me, he is the most pleasant dog around people, children, and other pets. Thank goodness he was easy to train! He enjoys rainy days in the backyard, long walks on the beach, and crackers crumbled over his dog food. He can be spoiled, at times. However, his favorite past time is napping and looking out the front window of our home.
